This question about Documentation: Answered
Since we have new release (2.0.0), I think that it might a good time to update
MediaWikiWatch.
This topic has not been updated since 2010, so I strongly believe it deserves it to promote Foswiki.
I have very little experience with
MediaWiki, but:
- although configuration and maintenance of Foswiki is complex, I still find it easier than MediaWiki. Examples?
- "Faster than Foswiki" - why? Have anybode checked it?
- "Everyone knows wikipedia, the primary MediaWiki instance." ---> yes, but it creates an illusion that everything which is configured/installed for Wikipedia will be available in your fresh MediaWiki installation. In fact, it will not.
Moreover, one of the first sentences is not clear for me: "MediaWiki is also one of the weakest enterprise wikis, because does not support most of the essential features an enterprise wiki needs".
