No, My Home Topic Does Not Contain Spam
I tried to edit my home topic,
Main.VickiBrown today and got this error on save:
1. There is insufficient information in the error to figure out the cause of the error.
If you're going to throw this sort of error, provide more information!
2. My home topic content is unchanged (other than meta data) since 13 Mar 2014 (rev. 5); there was no error then
(Current rev is 6 because I added, then deleted, an attachment today)
Diff:
3. My home topic does not contain spam (the
AntiWikiSpam Intercept
is doing something wrong)
4. This is annoying. Please make it stop.

Sorry, I just updated the spam filter. It was a pretty draconian filter. Foswiki.org last year was being killed by bot based registrations. One was doing dozens of registrations all with facebook links. We finally added facebook.com to the spam filter. If that bot comes back, we may have to add it back in, but for now, you should be all set.
We intentionally do NOT reveal why the filter hit. Spammers are quite inventive, and if we start revealing the regexes that match, they will just tweak the link to get by. I realize that it's frustrating, but spam bots are really causing issues. We remove a handful of registrations every week, and at the peak last year, there was a bot registering an account every 10-20 minutes.
