This question about Installation of Foswiki: Answered
Manually install extension on offline server
Hi,
we are using Foswiki on an server without internet connection.
We tried to manually install an extension but when running the _installer script, the system tried to download files from foswiki.org unsuccessfuly.
Is there a way to install extensions without internet connection. i.e. Downloading everything that is needed beforehand and install offline.
Thank you for your help.

If you download the _installer file and the tgz file, and then respond "y" to use previously downloaded files, it should be able to install without more downloads.

Oops... Just noticed Foswiki 1.0.6 ... That's almost 7 years old. I have no idea if the offline installer was working back then. I doubt than many extensions are still compatible with that old release. I would not recommend installing anything modern. We definitely do not test that far back. At that point in time, install was commonly done with a simple unzip into the root of the foswiki install. The mapping of renamed web & topics was not functional as I recall, so there was not a big benefit to using an installer.
