Anyone thought about introducing a new quoting mechanism inside SEARCH ="" to avoid the ridiculous use of $quot and $percnt? I'm thinking it only exists because we have, for example, format="<stuff that can now not use a double quote symbol>"

If instead we had format=q(now you can use $ and " and % as much as you like)

Foswiki really needs a mechanism to get away from unreadable searches.

MTempest just pointed me at HereDocumentSyntaxForMacros, which is better thought out and solves this problem among others.
