MichaelMell Would Like to Check-in
Who am I?
Hi! My name is Michael Mell. I am currently a
PhD student at the University of Madrid, where I am working in the field of Biophysics. I got my degree in physics from the University of Göttingen in Germany. As part of my
PhD thesis I am doing a lot of simulation work, but also experimental work. In my spare time I enjoy learning what I can about PCs. That includes Linux (not so much Windowz), Server infrastructure, programming and programming languages.
What do I want?
write access to
SVN for the following branches:
wikiplugins
What can I do?
Since I am primarily a scientist, I am not SO big on the "development side". I am familiar with Python (good), MATLAB(very good) and some C(basic). And I'm very interested in - but not yet familiar with - Perl ( for obvious reasons...
). Furthermore I know/use Latex together with Bibtex for bibliography-use.
Why do I want to do it?
The reason I started looking at Foswiki was, because I am searching for way to better organize and keep track of my work (Literature Research, Lab book, Knowledge Base). And above all do this all with in one system. After I got to know Foswiki a little I like what I see. Unfortunately though, it seems that there isn't a good module for managing (importing/exporting) Bibtex-References. I have seen that there is a Bibtex-Plugin to use for referencing, but it seems broken. So I would like to have a chance to participate and enhance Foswiki in this area.
