WikiWords do not form automatic links in sidebar

When users create a personal sidebar, they should be able to write links using the WikiWord format, but this doesn't seem to work. For example writing
   * WebHome

renders as

Main.WebHome

on the side bar and is not a hyperlink.

Links need to be enclosed in double square brackets in order to work correctly (on the sidebar). This is with PatternSkin. I have tried creating a personal sidebar on this site (foswiki.org) and testing simple WikiWord links and it seems to be OK but does not work on our installation. This is going to be off-putting to infrequent users.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Has someone set the NOAUTOLINK parameter in SitePreferences, or personal topic?

-- GeorgeClark - 05 Apr 2012

No. NOAUTOLINK is not set in SitePreferences, a personal topic, the WebLeftBar or anywhere else on the site that I can find. I have also looked at the templates folder and cannot find anything in viewsidebar.tmpl

Any other ideas?

Did someone write <noautolink> without closing it?
