Customization of headings (indentation)

Hi,

How can I customize the way headings are formatted / displayed?

I would like to customize general heading indentation so that Level 1 headings "---+" have no idendentation, level 2 headings "---++" have one unit of identation, level 3, more identation, etc.

Is anyone aware of a way to directly configure this, or if there is a plugin that allows the customization?
