LdapContrib: resetPassword does not work, changePassword works fine

I have LdapContrib 6.0 installed on Foswiki 1.1.3, build 11475. It works fine, i.e. users can login, change their passwords, with LdapNgPlugin 5.04 I can see a user record from the LDAP server. However, if someone forgot a password and tries to reset it - it does not work, the message "Password reset failed". I also tried to reset the password of a user using my Admin account, same result - does not work. Any idea why?
