foswiki on Solaris10 issues
Hi,
I've got two issues installing foswiki 1.0.5 on Solaris 10/sparc. This is mostly based on
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/SolarisInstallCookbook , using the preinstalled apache and perl installations.
- configure always says 'Error: 'diff' was not found on the current PATH'. It's installed (the sunfreeware package, in /usr/local/bin/diff), and I also extended the current path with /usr/local/bin:
Current PATH /usr/local/bin:/appl/wiki/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
- this just turned out a missing libintl - now configure is quiet.
- creating new versions of a file doesn't work:
Error saving topic
During save of
WebTTTTttt an error was found by the version control system. Please notify your Foswiki administrator.
/usr/local/bin/ci -m%COMMENT|U% -t-none -w%USERNAME|S% -u %FILENAME|F% of .../Sandbox/WebTTTTttt.txt failed:
Go back in your browser and save your changes locally.
Maybe these two are connected to each other, so that's why I put it in the same topic.
- also solved with libintl.
Regards,
Josef
Seems my foswiki installation is now working. And all the other users should make sure 'diff' is actually working.
/usr/local/bin/diff --version
should spit out the version number instead of complaining about libintl.

That's good news. Please update the cookbook with any wrinkles, tips or tricks you found.

I am not sure why this topic got closed. But I still get the problem
/usr/bin/ci -m%COMMENT|U% -t-none -d%DATE|D% -u -w%USERNAME|S% %FILENAME|F% of .../somename.txt failed: 1
