Using Solr-Plugin with Foswiki 1.1.5 in ISO-8859-15 (Latin)

Hello,

I successfully installed and configured the solr plugin 4.30 on a foswiki 1.1.5.

The wiki content is encoded in ISO-8859-15 (Latin), solr works with UTF-8, when there are german caracters like “Umlaute” (öüä) in search requests or on the result page, they are displayed in the wrong way.

Is there a way to fix that? I have seen the solr plugin changelog-entry “fixed backwards compatibility with pre-unicode Foswiki”, are there any limitations to this functionality?
