This question about Installation of Foswiki: Answered
Access denied, main does not exist
Hello, from yesterday i've found a really bad issue with Foswiki, i've changed manually the file htpasswd to change the mail of a registered user due to a problem with the user form, from that moment on, all went wrong. Foswiki will not find any web, but i've already controlled the folder (they exist) every single one of them has his own
WebPreferences Topic, the file .htpasswd exist and it's ok without damage, and i do not know any other thing that i can check to resolve this problem. Can someone help me figure out what is going on, thanks in advance!

I don't see how editing .htpasswd would cause a web not found. However, if you edited .htpasswd, did the ownership of the file change? When you edit externally you need to keep the same permission and ownership.
As far as "main does not exist" is that literally what you are seeing? "main" with a lower case M? If so that's the issue. web names are case sensitive and it must be "Main", not main.

It was a problem of permission on the NAS and i do not know how changing manually the .htpasswd can change the permission of the entire Data folder.
In any case you were right about the permission and the lower case was only my mistake of writing. Thanks for the quick answers it has made my head go in the right direction!
