Adding LDAP groups to a WikiGroup definition

I have a wiki group, TechGroup.

It has one member by WikiName. We also want to add the members of the AD (Exchange) group: #Tech group.

Do I retain the casing? Lowercase it? Convert the space to an underbar? Will this name clash with the name of the WikiGroup or does the # make it safely unique?

I see hints in the docs and support questions I've viewed, but nothing definitive. (Everythng says "just use them! (LDAP groups) but there are no examples).

I'm an admin AND I'm not in that group. I'd like some help before we ask #Tech group members to keep "trying" something.

I've also been told that the group I'm trying to add is an Exchange group.

The group is a security group in active directory, and its members are user AD objects. The group has an email address associated to it, and our exchange server treats it like a distribution list.

I am guessing that this means the entries are email addresses. I am also guessing that I want an LDAP group where the entries are user login names...?

But I know essentially nothing about Active Directory. The sys admin says:

Traditionally when you talk about AD integration it is a conversation about access to AD objects, groups, or users, for the purpose of providing access to resources.

which is so much gibberish to me.

(I did not implement the AD / LDAP integration. The person who did has never added an LDAP group to a Wiki group. We're in research mode.)

Also: #tech_group did not work. Unfortunately, there are too many variables to know why it did not work. Wrong capitalization? Wrong LDAP group? Wrong way to handle the blank in the name?
