This question about Using an extension: Answered
Unable to install KinoSearch
Hi,
I want to install
KinoSearch. I'm running centOS 7.
KinoSearchPlugin and
KinoSearchContrib seems to be installed correctly as I can see the Kino's tabs in the Extensions page :
and
http://myfoswiki/System/KinoSearch is working and let me execute a search.
The issue is comming when I try to search something. I get:
I thing all the necessary perl modules and packages are installed except perl-KinoSearch-0.165-3.el6.x86_64.rpm
When I try "yum install perl-KinoSearch-0.165-3.el6.x86_64.rpm", I get the following error:
Error: Package: perl-KinoSearch-0.165-3.el6.x86_64 (/perl-KinoSearch-0.165-3.el6.x86_64)
Requires: perl(:MODULE_COMPAT_5.10.1)
Another point: When I execute kinoindex script, it return:
My question:
Is perl 5.10 mandatory or any newer version of perl is supported by
KinoSearch ?
Actually perl 5.16 is installed.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Vincent, kino search isn't supported anymore for a very long time. However there is a good alternative that you can try -
SolrPlugin - providing a decent fulltext search engine.

Hi Michael,
You save me a lot of time
I'm not sure to find the right answer. Is able Solr to index the content of the attachements (word, exel, pdf..) like
KinoSearch ?
Regards
Vincent
