I have a topic containing text comparable to the following (in wikitext):

---++ 5 Questions
   * What if there are less than 400 blah blah blah:
      * <100: not possible
      * 100-200: blah blah blah

If I want to edit the topic afterwards, it's not possible, the browser hangs.

If you create a topic with just the above four lines, you'll be able to edit the topic afterwards, but the line containing "less than 100" will have disappeared.

If the line containing "less than 100" is somewhere in a longer topic, you won't be able to edit the topic and your browser will hang.

The only solution is to open the topic.txt file on the server and adding a space between the "less than" sign and "100", something an end user cannot achieve.

Just noting that I tested that on this site and another that I have and don't see this issue so it must be something unique about your installation. Not sure what that would be. Perhaps character encoding?
