Fresh installation: which username and password do I enter at the login screen?

Hi foswiki-team,

my english skills are not very good, so please forgive my (maybe) unclear explanation of my problem.

I've installed foswiki on my pc with the out-of-the-box installation package. During the installation it is asked for a password for the admin I think (but it was not asked for a username or so). I chose a password and continued the installation. After the installation I've opened the website on my pc and tried to login, but therefore I was asked for a username and a password.

Which username do I have to put in?

Answer

The password you entered is the administrator password. The default username is "admin". Normally you will only use this account to alter your configuration via the bin/configure script. In addition you can normally logon with this account for administrative tasks.
