This question about Configuration: Answered
problem with child topic list
There is a problem with creating child topic list, which is mentioned in
http://foswiki.org/System/SearchPatternCookbook#SearchTopicChildren
In my wiki site..
(wiki code 'percent symbol' indicates '%')
Children:
'percent symbol'SEARCH{ "parent.name='Question380'" type="query" nonoise="on" format="
$topic" separator=", " }'percent symbol'
'percent symbol'SEARCH{"parent.name = 'Question380'" web="Support" type="query"}'percent symbol'
(result)
Children:
Searched: parent.name = 'Research'
Number of topics: 0
Of course, there exist child topics.
I can see "You are here: Foswiki>Main Web>Research>Misc (2010-01-13,
JiseobKim)"
I also checked out 'More Topic actions' tab. But..
Child topics in Main web
No child topics
This problem also occured even for Mainweb
please help
I'm not sure what is going on. I've pasted your two examples into some test topics on 3 different Foswiki releases, and it worked in all cases. I tried it with both hard coded topic names and also using %TOPIC% in the parent name. Are the children all in the same web, or are they in a different web.
What server platform are you running on? Linux, Windows? And what search are you using? Forking,
PurePerl, or some other search implementation like
NativeSearchContrib. (
SearchAlgorithm) is an expert setting in the Foswiki configuration. I'm not sure what else might be causing issues here, just fishing a bit.

I strongly suspect a configuration error. Check that GNU grep is installed and working. You might also try switching to PurePerl searching (in
configure
)
