Global Attachment List. (attachments visible in the whole web while editing topics)

Hi,

i´m looking for a nice possibility to provide a file to all topics in a given web. I need this functionality to guarantee that a file-link to an attachment points allways to the last attachment revision. There is also no real customer-usability if you allways have to attach the same document if you want to create a link to this document in a new topic. (I know that i could directly point at this attachment, but i need a user-friendly solution to create a link to an attachment in the wysiwyg-editor)

My idea is now, to attach all files to a "WebFilelist" topic automatically. The search algorithm in the text-editor will also get the files out of this topic (and perhaps also the files of the edited topic).

Is there another better solution you can provide me? Perhaps i loosed sight over some interesting extensions?

I don't think there is a way to do this without an extension. The usual ones used for this sort of application are DBCachePlugin and FormQueryPlugin.
