ImageGalleryPlugin access rights to thumbnails

ImageGalleryPlugin creates its images in pub/images/WEB/TOPIC/. My installation has public and private (requiring authentification to view) webs. I redirect pub/WEB/TOPIC access to the viewfile handler.

Will the viewfile handler also support the pub/images directory hierarchy, by verifying that the user has read access to the topic the images thumbnails were created from ?

Unfortunately this version of ImageGalleryPlugin is incompatible with viewfile protection of the thumbnails. As the pub/images directory falls outside of the standard directory structure for pub, viewfile can't protect it.

This was changed in 2007 by http://develop.twiki.org/~twiki4/cgi-bin/view/Bugs/Item4621
