Item10332: attach with RcsLite failed
Priority: Normal
Current State: Confirmed
Released In: n/a
Target Release: patch
Attachments for files like PFD and ODP failes without result or error message
- adding such file as new attachment all is well
- substitution of an attachment (same name, some changes) will get not result
- the will be found in pub///, but the ,v doesn't change
This will happen only with RcsLight!
With
RcsWrap it works.

Heya Guenter,
could you attach an example of such files? it'd help to make sure we track down the same issue quickly, rather than poking around in the wrong areas.

Does this only happen with PFD and ODP files or does it happen with any kind of attachment?

I got an bug report from a user for an PDF and I could see the problem with an ODP. I will attach this file.

With text and image files it should work says another user, but I tried only ODP and PDF

I have verified this.
I changed my {Store}{Implementation} to Foswiki::Store::RcsLite
And then I tried to attach a pdf file. And I could attach it and I could attach a rev 2.
Then I downloaded the 2010-11t.odp that Guenther attached. And then attached that. It went well. Then I attached a new revision of it and then the attach script times out. Nothing is ever saved.
But then I tried to repeat the test in another topic and it all went fine. But the difference was that this time I was uploading a slightly modified version of the original file. I had changed two characters and saved it again.
It seems the
RcsLite is sensitive to the content of the attached file. I bet it has nothing to do with the extension

I have tried to re-download the file and attach it to a new topic. And I cannot re-create the problem again.
Very mysterious error

I am downgrading this bug to normal. It takes some goofy files to trigger this and is not a generic issue.
Can it be related to locales and charsets inside the files? Or maybe related to Mime types. These files need to be seen as binary.
