(I think because of the inclusion of SizzleJs) jQuery 1.5+ doesn't like

var metaVal = $("meta[name=foswiki."+key+"]").attr("content");

The error results in blocked javascript.

The solution is to use quotes:

var metaVal = $("meta[name=\"foswiki."+key+"\"]").attr("content");
