Item1851: ExcelImportExportPlugin renders pipe symbol without content
Priority: Normal
Current State: Closed
Released In:
Target Release: n/a
I attached the attached excel to a topic and put into the topic:
%EXCEL2TABLE{"Book1"}%
The result are 3 pipe characters instead of a table with content:
I've dougle checked that I have all dependencies fullfilled which looks ok for Debian Lenny packages.

Hi Ingo. Did you test the new version? I have had the same problems with the plugin, which were caused by the unhandy use of defining a dataform first. I've decided to extend it a bit and published a new version. Feel free to try. Feedbacks appreciate.

Hi Sven,
thanks! I now re-installed and voila it seems to work with my very simple test excel. Strangely the version I re-installed was exactly the one which I had installed in the first place already. Additionally I run
sudo chmod 550 excel2topics table2excel topics2excel uploadexcel
in the bin directory to eliminate the 777 permissions after the upgrade.
I will do a bit more testing with excel2topics and then close this issue.

Thanks again for fixing this usability issue. Maybe it was an enhancement but using a data form if one simply wants to display the table exactly as in the excel sheet was'nt so good.
Using
EXCEL2TABLE
I now imported some more advanced excel sheets successfully without defining any template stuff, 10x.
