Item1862: configure takes forever to load in IE

Loading configure in IE (after the latest changes in the UI) takes on my Atom based computer

• More than 30 seconds to load first time
• More than 15 seconds to react to opening expert settings

The worst is that the browser looks like it is hanging. I closed the browser because I gave up. It was not until the 3rd attempt I decided to wait.

When you click on the expert setting the cursor seems to hang in the "pointing finger mode" and your response is to click several times which just makes the pain longer.

It seems there is some JS that takes forever in IE.

In FF things are fine.

It is IE 7 I have on this machine. I have not yet tested IE6 and IE8.

Tested with IE6, IE7, IE8, Safari 3 (Windows), Safari 4 (Mac), Firefox 3

I can confirm that IE6 and IE7 are significantly slower than the other browsers, but I never had to wait more than 10s.

Arthur, any ideas?

I have replaced behaviour.js based scripts by jquery. I think this speeds up things.

On my test environment (IE6 + IE7 installed), I cannot select any text fields in IE6. I would like some feedback if this is the case for others as well.

I have retested in IE8 and IE6 and FF.

It is swift now and I can select texts.
