Item4531: registration process needs professionalisation
Priority: Enhancement
Current State: Proposal Required
Released In: n/a
Target Release: n/a
<yossman> hey guys, got a problem with twiki 4.1.2 .. i tried to register a new user, but the registration process did not send me a confirmation, and now i can't trigger a re-confirmation, and i can't seem to edit the user account, because it hasn't been confirmed yet.
<yossman> how do i deal with this? i'm looking for a master userlist override where i can a) register the user myself and approve it, and b) change the password myself
<yossman> nasty chicken-and-egg problem it seems
<yossman> hmm 'UserName.lease' file is in the main web directory, i notice the rest of them are .txt and .txt,v pairs
<yossman> hmm apparently twiki sees two different users with same email address, and freaks out
being able to resend the rego approval email would be good (both as the user and as the admin)
as admin, to be able to see pending approvals and action them - either by manually approving, or rejecting - or even filtering to reject rego's by that email address...
this same admin UI would get a re-vamped UI for bulk rego

i'm hoping that there will be a way soon to have a master userlist editor of some sort, so that password changes, email address changes, and so on could be handled by an admin panel, that does not require the user's interaction. especially for intranet site use (ie. not public), often there will only be one or two admins running things for everyone else. in some cases, it may not be a regular user's 'job' to make use of the standard site tools to make those kinds of changes to their user account for themselves.
