Item4584: Possible to choose raw edit when creating new topic
Priority: Enhancement
Current State: Proposal Required
Released In: n/a
Target Release: n/a
I create this on behalf of Steffen Poulsen.
He added it to a closed bug but for prioritation and traceability I find a new bug item is needed.
Steffen proposed in connection with
Item4536 which is the bug item that added Raw Edit: "there should be the same options when creating a file (ability to do this with Raw Edit or standard Edit)"

I am not sure it is such a great idea to make creation of topics more complicated with more user interface as a result.
For the experts it is not such a bad deal to create a topic - save it - and Edit Raw.
Is it worth having additional user interface on the create topic dialog which already contains a lot of stuff?
I am not against - but I am not sure it is helping the less skilled users.

Agreed, it is not as high priority.
While eventually touching on this item, perhaps it would be an idea to clean up the create screen ("Note: This topic does not exist").
Some of the possible links:
- "Print version"
- "History"
- "Backlinks"
- "Raw view"
- "Attach"
- "More topic actions"
Makes the screen more busy than it needs to at create time, and it is not very clear which items relate to the topic being created and which items relate to the
WebTopicCreator underneath.

Setting Proposal Required to this. I've often wanted to go into raw edit instead of Wysiwyg, but there is no easy way to override during topic creation. Especially because the copy/paste buffer is cleared when
TinyMCE starts up.
