Item5730: GenPDFAddOn: recurse not working in TWiki 4.2?

According to http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Support/GenPDFRecursiveFailed (HaraldSitte - 03 Nov 2008), it may be a Windows-only problem:

i found some discussions about the same problem ("opening '-|' on Windows"). Maybe it's a feature, it isn't yet supported on Win32 platforms. Here some links I found:

My reading of those is that the '-|' (in GenPDF.pm) is definitely not supported on Win32.

But the do_pipe_command work-around (in the first link above) is beyond me.

This logic has been completely rewritten as part of / replaced with %SEARCH as part of Item892 The file system is no longer directly accessed from the GenPDFAddOn. Closing. Please reopen if problems are found.
