It might sound odd on first sight, but I recommend, that we get a free Confluence-Testlicence for testing and learning. This could either be a
non-profit-licence or a
personal licence. I am convinced, that we can learn a lot from Atlassian.

don't say that too loud
in 2 weeks time i'm going to
SydneyWikiWednesday in their offices, to tell all
Atlassian is a very strong player. I would not be too surprised if they were even okay giving us a licence.
From:
http://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/licensing.jsp#purchases
Open Source
Atlassian supports and believes in the Open Source movement - Confluence utilises a number of good Open Source components, and Atlassian developers are committers on a large number of Open Source projects.
To give back to the open source community (and hopefully improve the quality of those projects!), Confluence is free for any Open Source project to use.
There are a few requirements for an Open Source license, the main ones being:
* Established code base
* Publicly available project website
* Using an approved open source license
* Your Confluence instance will be publicly accessible
Furthermore:
How to apply for an open source license for any Atlassian software:
- If you have not done so already, download trial versions of any Atlassian software you are interested in.
- Setup public access to each free trial instance under your project's website and enable public signups.
- Once all trial instances, your website and source repository are publicly accessible, please complete the form below.
So, we need to set up a publically accesible version of a trial version of confluence, and then fill out the form.
I dont see this as something with high priority, but if anyone wants to give it a go, contact the
InfrastructureTaskTeam.

Confirmed and dropped to Low priority. Still worth giving it a go, though.

We have a test implementation at my company right now. I am testing confluence and will report my results in the tasks web eventually.

I have started to populate first results in
ConfluenceWatch. At the moment I have only published weaknesses of Confluence. It has a lot of strengths also. I will create tasks to make sure, that we will finally catch them there also.
