Go to
Sandbox/Smells/WebHome and watch the breadcrumb. Sandbox is not listed.
AC
Don't know what was going on for you; it's listed in my breadcrumbs (the web is Sandbox/Smells)

This is a usability question. Current display:
-
TWiki > Sandbox/Smells Web > WebHome
"Don't make me think" display:
-
TWiki > Sandbox Web > Smells Web > WebHome
Deferred.

Why is this deferred? What's the use of a nested Web if it is the same as a normal web?
AC
This is just a display issue. Good if someone wants to fix this display issue before the release.
Dakar is the first release that supports hierarchical webs, and it is disabled by default. There are some more issues with hierarchical webs, but good enough for first release. Personally I do not recommend to use them anyway, it invides the creation of many fragmented webs.

Some of us have apps which heriarchical webs will be a major enabler for, perhaps a key point for internal acceptance, Peter.
However I agree with you about the need for the parent web to be a distinct item in the breadcrumbs.
Peter, you keep maing assertions about what TWiki/features are good/bad based on your own experience and seem to me to be intollerant of others experiences and needs. Could you please be more accepting and -small-c
catholic about such matters. Thanks.

I think I am open to changes and enhancements, and I express my opinions openly when I see problems with enhancements. Which can be taken as input to improve things. Take it or leave it. Unlike others, I also refrain from using "you"-words such as parochial, obtuse etc.

%MAKETEXT% is currently not sufficient for this to work. I'd implement Peter's "Don't make me think" idea as a new variable ( %WEBPATH% ) which accepts link template text and separator text as parameters. A more generic approach would be to create a %ITER% or %FOREACH% variable which can accept a list, a list delimeter (space by default, or a regex, like [./] ), and template text to fill out with each item in the list.

Sure. But it isn't going to happen in Dakar. Deferred.

Undeferred, post Dakar

This is so old, it's past the mouldy stage and into being a fossil. Nobody cares enough to do anything about it. No action.
