Feature Proposal: FootNotePlugin should have an option for topic specific deactivation

Motivation

The plugin's short notation can break other plugins (e.g. GnuPlotPlugin to name one)

Description and Documentation

The curly bracket notation should be deprecated and there should be a preference variable which allows to deactivate the plugin on topic level

Discussion

This plugin needs a rewrite imho as there is no proper control where the list of collected footnotes are actually put.

Franz, this is more of a bug report for a non-core plugin rather than a feature request. Feature requests are actually discussions about core changes. Let's move the discussion to the FootNotePlugin discussion page.
