Camp Post Mortem
The following are the observations of the participants (
JulianLevens initially) and are not in anyway meant to represent something the Community or Association has signed up to. Some of this could be raised as a
FeatureProposal and follow the normal procedures.
Day 1
This was primarily a day for discussions that considered the next steps of Foswiki development.
André Lichtsteiner was very keen to bring in the concept of
personas to provide some extra structure to Foswiki documentation and indeed even guide development by encouraging consideration of the different user requirements.
André manages a Foswiki with approx 100,000 topic over 100s of webs and 100s of users. A further issue he raised is the ability to keep Foswiki installations up to date with the latest release. From a management perspective André also raised the point that an easy and even continuous upgrade process can lower the
TCO of Foswiki in an Organisation — thus reducing acceptance of Foswiki into an organisation or even it's eventual if costs are not kept under control.
